Jordan Kuwait Bank (JKB) and Elia Nuqul Foundation (ENF) signed a partnership agreement, under which the Bank will provide scholarships to public universities in Jordanian to bright students whose economic circumstances did not help them complete their studies, in addition to introducing them to the programs offered by ENF. The agreement was signed by ENF’s Director General, Randi Abdin, and JKB’s Head of Strategy and Marketing, Dana Jaradat.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Bank will cover the eligible students’ tuition and monthly transportation expenses for the entire university term, while the Foundation will engage the students in their development programs and systematic and non-methodological training, that manages to develop their skills and prepare them to enter the labor market.
After signing the agreement, Randi Abdin emphasized the importance of educating and qualifying young people, providing them with scientific and life skills to progress. She noted the Foundation’s efforts with strategic partners to support the the youth sector and their efforts to engage new segments of the private sector through agreements that help empower of young people and their futures.
For her part, Mrs. Dana Jaradat commented: “We believe in the ability of young people to create and develop positive change in their communities, especially for students who have the ambition and drive to learn even under difficult circumstances. Education is the path to self-development and the advancement of society. It unlocks multiple opportunities and reduces inequalities that underpin societies and are the main drivers of sustainable development.”
Since its establishment in 2008, Elia Nuqul foundation aims to qualify young people by providing them with the opportunity to complete their higher education at public universities, community colleges or vocational orientations. The Foundation covers tuition fees and transportation expenses for scholarships and training programs that develop students’ personal, scientific, linguistic and technical skills and prepare them for the labor market.
