Jordan Kuwait Bank signs memorandum of understanding with “Green Wheelz” Initiative

Jordan Kuwait Bank (JKB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with “Green Wheelz”, a non-profit initiative & Forum under the umbrella of Hearts United for Environmental Training.The MOU was signed by Mrs. Dana Jaradat, Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager at JKB and Mrs. Faida Sobha, Depty General Manager of Hearts United and Administrative Committee Member of the Green Wheelz Initiative. JKB’s participation in this initiative comes in line with its social responsibility, and its strategy to contribute actively in addressing the environmental challenges facing the Kingdom, alongside its support for people with special needs. The Bank employees will  collect plastic bottle caps and aluminum cans in a designated collection box located at the Head Office to deliver to Green Wheelz. In return, they will sort and deliver them to local recycling factories and allocate the revenues to provide aid to children with special needs, specifically those with cerebral palsy, with the aim of improving the quality of their educational and therapeutic lives and their participation in society. Mrs. Dana Jaradat stated: “Jordan Kuwait Bank management decided to participate in this initiative to instill environmental awareness and volunteer work among its employees and create a positive atmosphere with members of the local community.” It is worth noting that the non-profit Green Wheelz Initiative collects solid waste that harms the environment, such as plastic bottle caps and cans to be recycled. The revenues of which are donated to children with cerebral palsy by supporting them in their education, treatment as well as providing wheelchairs to those in need. This in addition to raising the levels of awareness that concern the environment and economic and social development issues through various awareness programs and partnerships with the relevant parties. The Bank also provided support to the Mother’s Day event organized by the Green Wheelz initiative, that aimed to support the education and treatment of children with cerebral palsy in both Amman and Karak governorates.
